The Pinterest Predicts report has tons of info on just what users are searching for and what we’ll all be searching for in a few months (or even weeks) time, including the fashion trends we’re already seeing pop up all over our Instagram and TikTok feeds. Checkerboard Vans have been a classic sneaker choice for decades, but Pinterest is predicting the pattern will soon be everywhere, not just on our feet. Checkerboard knitwear, denim, handbags and even nail art are on the rise in every color combo imaginable. We’ve already seen hints of this trend emerging on Instagram, including multiple sightings of celebs rocking Scandinavian brand Stine Goya’s Adonis sweater. The trendiest way to wear the print is with other patterned pieces in contrasting colors, but you can just as easily rock them with classic blue-wash denim or other more subdued staples if that’s more your style. And keep an eye out for checks in other aspects of life as well, like checkerboard cakes, colorful tiles and home decor.
