A spacious, light-filled three-bedroom, two-bathroom Federation home on Sydney’s lower north shore.
Lizzie Renkert, a former magazine editor and co-founder of fashion label We Are Kindred, Andrew Foy, a builder, and their children Luella, 9, and Max, 6, as well as cavoodle Daisy and Burmese cat Iggy.
What we did
“We renovated the bathroom, gutted and renovated the kitchen and redid all of the outdoor spaces, adding decking and a daybed, and repaved and tiled the front verandah,” says Lizzie. “We also replaced all the floorboards with American oak.”
Our favourite space
“The living room – the hub of the house. It has lots of pink because Andrew and the kids bought me a pink chair – I had to redecorate.”
The ‘hood
“It’s just a beautiful area. It’s five minutes to the beach and close to lots of really lovely walks. It’s a great place to bring up kids.”
Future plans
“We’re planning to gut the deck and put in a plunge pool. On my list is to redo both the bathrooms. Ideally, I’d like to do a second-floor room for storage.”
Best advice
“The easiest way to change the look of a room is with cushions. I also love coffee table books, lots of fresh flowers and floor rugs; I change them around a lot.”
