It’s not just you who’s been spending hours scrolling through websites full of tables, sofas, pillows, planters, wall art and more to freshen your home and spirits without breaking the bank.

Affordable furniture and home décor is just a click away if you know where to look. For example, At Home, the “home décor superstore” that has two retail outlets locally in Foothill Ranch and Riverside, decided to make its products available online for the first time because of the pandemic closures. (On the other hand, HomeGoods, with its treasure hunt-like stores, chose not to offer its products online.)

Each is faring better than Pier 1, a onetime leader among affordable décor retailers that announced in May it would halt operations after 58 years of business. It stopped selling merchandise at pier1.com as of July 25 (though new owners plan a new, shoppable website for the brand), and all stores are expected to close permanently by the end of October.
