Long gone are the days of Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande’s summer of romance. Enter: the spring of Pete Davidson and Phoebe Dynevor, which has popped up right after this winter’s news of Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles and Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers. The 27-year-old Saturday Night Live cast member and the 26-year-old Bridgerton actress have kicked off a romance.
A Caverswall, England, teen saw the pair strolling past her house last month and snagged a photo op with Davidson. Per local news source Stoke-on-TrentLive, the 14-year-old high school student noticed the duo’s body language looked as if they might be more than friends.
The teen told the site her story:
“They walked past our house and we saw them holding hands and hugging each other. I saw his face from the side but I wasn’t sure if it was actually him. I thought ‘no, it can’t be.’ I left it but then my sister said ‘is that Pete Davidson?’ I walked up to him and asked him if it was Pete Davidson and he said ‘no’ in an English accent but then later he said ‘I’m just kidding’ in an American accent. It was quite funny. They were really nice and lovely. I knew of Pete Davidson partly because he’s Ariana Grande’s ex, and I listen to some of her songs. It was strange to see them in Caverswall. I’ve never seen a famous person, never mind outside my house. It’s quite amazing I came across them. I told all my friends about it. It looked like they were in a relationship and they seemed happy together.”
It does make some sense that the two were in Caverswall; it’s about an hour away by car from Dynevor’s hometown, Manchester, per Google Maps.
A teen and her sister in an English village might have been the first to sight the new couple, but Us Weekly confirmed the relationship shortly after the couple’s Caverswall stroll.
“Pete and Phoebe are still going strong despite not being able to physically spend time together,” a source told Us. “They keep in touch over text and FaceTime. Right now, they’re just focused on work…They’re not looking to rush things.”
The two reportedly met this earlier this year at a “gathering,” though during a pandemic it’s hard to imagine exactly what this gathering looked like.
“Pete and Phoebe met at a gathering in NYC and really hit it off. “They started off as friends and quickly realized there was chemistry between [them],” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “Pete and Phoebe started out casually dating but things have gotten a bit more serious recently.”
Okay, all of that is great, when did this relationship start in the first place?
Dynevor took a trip to NYC, where Davidson lives, to shoot scenes for the TV show Younger.
“Grateful I got to be here for a hot sec ❤️,” she wrote on Instagram alongside photos of Brooklyn.
The couple was spotted at multiple locations in England, including the Caverswall sighting. On March 20, Davidson was seen in the Manchester area, where the social media company Altrincham HQ posted the following on their Facebook: “Pete Davidson in the market quarter. Star of King Of Staten Island … and also in the forthcoming Suicide Squad movie. He’s staying over in Altrincham with friends,” the post reads.

Us and Page Six confirmed the relationship on April 5. The next day, Davidson made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he was spotted wearing a “pd” necklace.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted that Dynevor was wearing a matching necklace in a video from International Women’s Day, which was March 8. You can see the necklace at about 4 minutes and 20 seconds.
“I’m with my celebrity crush,” Davidson said in mid-April, while reportedly participating in a Q&A with Marquette University.
These two are starting a long-distance relationship alongside global vaccine efforts, so there’s a good chance these two will be spotted out together a lot more this year.
