King Charles is feeling sentimental for Father’s Day, sharing sweet throwback photos with Prince William and Prince Harry, as well as his own dad, Prince Philip.

A day after Trooping the Colour, the official celebration of the monarch’s birthday (Charles blows out the candles for real on Nov. 14, when he’ll turn 75), the king’s official Instagram account posted a carousel of pics of the core royals with their fathers.

The photo grabbing the most attention is a vintage one of Charles with William and Harry, seemingly taken at Balmoral, the royal family’s Scottish estate where Queen Elizabeth II died in September. Charles, wearing a green sweater and plaid kilt, is seen exploring the rocky grounds with his then-teenage and tween sons, who wear khakis and rolled-up sleeves on their button-front shirts. The photo is dated 1997, the year their mom, Princess Diana, died.

“To Dads everywhere, we wish you a very special Father’s Day today,” the photo is captioned. Harry did not attend his father’s birthday festivities a day earlier.

The gallery is led with a photo of Charles laughing with his own father, Prince Philip, who died in 2021, and includes a shot of Queen Camilla with her dad, Bruce Shand, who died in 2006.

The Prince and Princess of Wales also marked the day with two casual photos of William, next in line for the throne, with the couple’s three children.

A smiling Will is being hugged around the neck by his youngest, Prince Louis, 5, while his older children, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince George, 9, look up at him, grinning. Another shot shows Louis seated on his dad’s lap. The family is dressed-down in the photo taken by Millie Pilkington: Will and George are in jeans and Louis is in denim shorts.

The photo appears to be from the photo session that yielded Louis’ recent birthday photo: He’s wearing the same blue Fair Isle sweater over a blue-and-white windowpane plaid button-down.

The family is seen sitting on a bench inscribed “21st April, 2016,” the date of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday.
