Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are known for their real estate prowess, and their latest change to their portfolio could be an especially profitable one. The couple recently listed their gated Beverly Hills estate for $53.5 million, less than two years after purchasing it from Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine for $42.5 million. The listing states that DeGeneres and de Rossi have substantially renovated the 10,376-square-foot mansion, though it is unclear exactly what changes they made. This comes on top of Levine and wife Behati Prinsloo’s own $7 million upgrades during their ownership.

One of two kitchens in the main home.

The ivy-covered property comprises five bedrooms and 12 bathrooms spread out across three floors, with reclaimed wood floors, stone fireplaces, and crown molding throughout. There are plenty of modern touches throughout the home—especially in the dual, stainless-steel-covered kitchens—but the design is also decidedly traditional, with paneling covering the walls throughout most of the downstairs living spaces. These include a sunlit two-story front foyer that steps into a 50-foot living room, a family room, a formal dining room, and a library.

White paneling adorns the walls in the large dining room and many other downstairs spaces.

Upstairs, the main suite spans an impressive 2,000 square feet and is an oasis of calm, with a private terrace and en suite bathroom. Other amenities include a professional screening room with a bar, a family/media room, a gym, and outdoor amenities like a kitchen with a pizza oven, a fire pit, numerous patio sitting areas, a sunken tennis court, and a pool and spa.

In the back of the home, a turret gives the place a Tudor-style vibe.

DeGeneres and de Rossi are constantly making headlines for their real estate transactions. Last fall, they sold their Bali-inspired Montecito property for $33.3 million, and just months earlier, they bought and flipped a unique English Tudor home in the same neighborhood. The buyer of that home was none other than pop star Ariana Grande, who paid the couple $6.75 million for the 5,500-square-foot property. And it seems like the pair are nowhere near done: In December, DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased a four-acre Montecito estate for $49 million.
