Anya Taylor-Joy Wore a Stunning Second Dior Haute Couture Dress at the Golden Globes. Inside Its Making

Anya Taylor-Joy had one of the most breathtaking outfits of Golden Globes night, accepting her award for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture for TV in an emerald Dior Haute Couture dress and over $1 million of Tiffany & Co. diamonds. But that wasn’t her only outfit. Dior designed two scene-stealing dresses for The Queen’s Gambit actress. The dress was custom-designed by Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. It took two petites mains over 150 hours to make. The artisans molded the satin fabric into a full-skirted strapless dress. These savoir faire images of its making show firsthand the craftsmanship the Dior team put into Taylor-Joy’s stunning dress.

After the Globes, Taylor-Joy said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she, her stylist Law Roach, and the rest of her glam team decided to treat her big night like it was prom. “We have had so much fun,” she said. “We have treated this entire experience like prom because I never went to prom, so we have had a really good time. And the benefit of not being in the room is that I got to change outfits, so I got two outfits tonight, which feels pretty cool.”

She also spoke about how she planned to celebrate her win: “I think I am going to breathe for a heartbeat and try and understand what is going on and then I am going to put on some music, have a dance with my best friends and probably end up in bed with a grilled cheese watching a movie,” she said. “That’s kind of the dream right now.”

Taylor-Joy ultimately got to enjoy celebratory cake, cupcakes, and more. Her friend shared footage of the low-key festivities:
