Kelly Clarkson is redoubling her efforts to “Breakaway” from the farmhouse-style Los Angeles home she’s owned since 2018: The Grammy winner recently relisted the home for $9 million, the L.A. Times reports, down from the almost $10 million she first asked last summer.
Clarkson purchased the house, located in the San Fernando Valley’s upscale Encino neighborhood, for $8.5 million nearly three years ago, shortly after construction was completed. The modern-rustic home spans nearly 10,000 square feet, with eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms spread across the main house and guesthouse, including a main suite complete with fireplace, private patio, and massive walk-in closet. The house also features a movie theater, home gym, wine cellar, and triple-island kitchen.

The backyard includes a swimming pool with a baja shelf, a full outdoor kitchen, and plenty of covered and uncovered patio space for laying out or entertaining, in addition to the home’s extensive indoor-outdoor living space accessible via pocket glass walls. The pool area is enclosed within a low glass wall, and the entire half-acre property is kept away from prying eyes by gates and fences, plus a wall of thick hedges and towering trees.
Clarkson revealed in a December episode of her eponymous talk show that she had purchased a new L.A. residence amid her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, who she married in October 2013. In response to guest Fran Drescher discussing her decision to buy a house in an attempt to find something “calming” in the midst of her own 1999 divorce, Clarkson shared, “It’s like you were in my last therapy session. I got a new house, it’s very white and clean—the same reasoning.”
Clarkson added, “I was like, ‘Please help me make this make sense. I need to feel cleansed.’ I just wanted to feel happy, and it does. The colors make me feel really good.”
