When you’ve starred in one of the most lavishly-costumed TV shows of the year—not to mention Netflix’s most-watched original series ever—you might find yourself struggling come awards season to find looks that can live up to your extravagant on-screen costumes. Nicola Coughlan need not worry.
The breakout Irish star of both Bridgerton and Derry Girls has been ramping up her style game with a series of delightful, Regency era-inspired looks. (The dreamy Simone Rocha pearl-embroidered coat she wore last week for London Fashion Week would have set any royal suitor’s pulse racing.) And tonight, for the Golden Globes, Coughlan stepped out—or rather, stayed in—wearing her most opulent look yet: a Molly Goddard gown crafted from dozens of yards of ruched, pastel yellow tulle.
Working with her stylist Aimée Croysdill, Coughlan completed the look with an adorable black cardigan, some dazzling jewelry courtesy of De Beers, and contrasting eyeshadow in a bold pink ombré for a more modern touch. No longer just everyone’s favorite headstrong Bridgerton debutante, Coughlan is firmly staking her claim as a red carpet star in the making, too.
