Kylie Jenner’s at-home style posts have become legendary on social media, but when it’s time for the reality-star-turned-beauty-mogul to leave her mansion, she goes all out. Yesterday as Justin Bieber toasted his new album, Justice, with an intimate gathering at The Nice Guy in Los Angeles, Kylie and her sister Kendall joined the festivities. The sisters each pulled out a memorable outfit for the occasion. Kendall chose a smart leather trench and mini-skirt combo, but Kylie took things to the next level. In a crimson catsuit from LaQuan Smith’s fall/winter 2021 show, Jenner turned up the heat with a look that debuted less than two weeks ago. Transparent with velvet inserts strategically covering the body, the piece was an integral part of Smith’s slinky collection. Though model Amilna Estêvão wore it with nothing but a smile in Smith’s lookbook, Jenner layered on a textured leather maxi-coat and Louis Vuitton’s twisted-box bag for maximum impact.
Jenner has long been a fan of Smith’s outré style. His come-hither clothes have become sensations on Instagram, where she and celebrities like Addison Rae, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna have worn them to great effect. Still, as the first to wear his latest work, Jenner introduced Smith’s vision for fall to the world. If you thought there was any chance of 2021 being a year of buttoned-up fashion and understated dressing, extroverts like Jenner have bad news for you. With increasingly few opportunities to make a splash in a paparazzi shot, stars plan to make every moment—and outfit—count.
