While scrolling endlessly through your For You page on TikTok, a familiar face that you just couldn’t place may have popped up — perhaps it was the actress who played the teen version of Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30. Like many of us, the social platform has not only become a form of entertainment during the pandemic for Christa Allen but also as a creative outlet.
“Because the industry was basically shut down, especially in the beginning, we just didn’t know what was going to happen,” the 29-year-old actress tells Allure. “I was like, this TikTok thing has some momentum. If I do TikTok like it’s my job, it’s going to become my job, and it has.”
Since starring in the iconic movie, Allen has made appearances on Grey’s Anatomy, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Wizards of Waverly Place. She also played Charlotte in the TV show Revenge. Now, Allen is sharing the beauty tips she’s picked up throughout her career alongside tutorials for her favorite looks while racking up millions of likes along the way.
“Revenge was the big catalyst for my love of all things beauty,” Allen says. “Because we’re such a big show, beauty brands were sending us all the beauty products we could ever imagine. It led to a lot of experimentation.”
