Alright, Here’s Everything You Need to know About Season 17 of ‘The Bachelorette’

You know how it goes: As one Bachelor gives out his final rose to a lucky contestant (uh, that may not be the case with Matt James, unfortunately), a Bachelorette is getting ready to commence the filming for her own season—it’s a very seamless process, TBH! That being said, season 17 of The Bachelorette is coming up pretty quickly, which means it’s time we get ~acquainted~ with the logistics—and of course, spoilers, duh—ahead of the premiere. Take! Notes!

For a brief moment, peeps thought that The Bachelorette would be heading up north to the great country of Canada for some cold weather fun. Why? Because in January, Reality Steve told his Twitter followers that “the resort for “Bachelorette” filming in Canada next season might be at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta.”

But by February, this major detail changed—Reality Steve later announced that The Bachelorette’s 17th season will take place in the United States instead in New Mexico at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya in Albuquerque. Fun!

The resort looks like this, BTW:

Following Chris’ defense of Rachael Kirkconnell after she came under fire for attending an Old South themed party in 2018, he announced that he’d be “stepping aside” from the franchise for a little bit. A little over two weeks later, Chris did an interview with Good Morning America and said that he’ll be returning to the franchise in some capacity.

“I plan to be back and I want to be back. And I think this franchise can be an important beacon of change,” Chris told Michael Strahan. “I know that change is felt, not just by me, but by many others. And we are excited and willing to do the work to show that progress…This interview is not the finish line. There is much more work to be done. And I am excited to be a part of that change.”

This is not a confirmation that he’ll back for season 17 of The Bachelorette, but it’s also not not a confirmation, if ya get what I mean.

Okay, so we’re heading into spoiler zone right about now, so if you don’t want to know about who has been cast at the lead, I advise you stop reading right here and close out this tab!!!

On February 7, Steve tweeted that Katie’s casting was set to be revealed at the Women Tell All taping.

The very next day, Steve made a correction to his tweet and said, “In regards to this tweet from Sat night, it’s wrong…& right. Katie was NOT announced as Bachelorette at WTA. Message I got was “it’s Katie and it came out at WTA.” I thought that meant it happened there. But I’ve been told it’s confirmed it’s Katie and she’ll be named this week.”

Things only got messier from there once the Chris Harrison and Rachael Kirkconnell drama started making major waves, because ABC’s production team was unsure if they wanted to go forward with Katie’s casting. In a spoiler post, Steve said:

BUT THEN the production team changed their mind again…so the Bachelorette is still Katie! You can get all the info on Katie here.

That’s all the intel we have for now, but be sure to check back here once we get closer to the premiere date!
