The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 just dropped on Hulu today, reintroducing us to our favorite group of Mormon TikTokers aka MomTok. As well as bringing us back to Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck and co., this season also introduces us to a new Mormon Mom—Miranda McWhorter.
Oh, and btw she’s got major history with Taylor Frankie. In fact, they had somewhat of a feud following that swinging scandal. So what’s the tea? Here’s everything you need to know about Miranda McWhorter and her feud with Taylor Frankie Paul.
Who is Miranda McWhorter?
Miranda is a fellow Mormom MomToker. She has over 1.2 million followers on TikTok where she goes by the username of @miranda__mcw and on Instagram she’s got over 177,000 followers.
She has two children—Brooks and Cohen, and works as an influencer and the latest member of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
What’s her history with Taylor Frankie Paul?
Okay so back when MomTok first started Taylor and Miranda were besties. Taylor then broke the internet back in 2022 when she opened up about a group of her friends and herself being part of a “soft-swinging” group, and it ultimately led to the end of her marriage with her husband.
At the time it was rumored Miranda and her husband at the time, Chase McWhorter, were part of the swinging scandal. However, they both denied this.
Chase then revealed he had attended some of Taylor’s parties but the swinging wasn’t what Taylor had initially described.
“It all started during Covid. … [It was] a bunch of our friends coming—couples—and then we’d all get trashed on alcohol and then, like, these games would come up,” he told US Weekly last year. “Spin the bottle or whatever.”
He then said it was never pre-determined swinging would happen at the parties, but that he and Miranda did “participate in some of the games.”
“It was never predetermined that we were going to be doing, like, swinging. That’s what we always thought was a little bit misrepresented in Taylor’s story, as she presents it,” he told the publication.
Following the scandal coming out Taylor and Miranda’s friendship appeared to come to an end. And now in the new trailer for the series, Miranda is seen appearing for the first time with the women and Taylor. In the voiceover, they say: “Miranda is Taylor’s ex-best friend.”
Miranda then says she is going to “set the record straight” on the swinging scandal.
Where do Taylor and Miranda stand now?
Well, it appears that despite the drama that is teased in the trailer for the new series, Miranda and Taylor actually look to be getting on pretty well.
They’ve been seen doing a bunch of interviews together for this season and also tagging each other in TikToks, with Miranda recently sharing one of them at the recent premiere and writing a caption: “When your bestie outed you for being a swinger.”
So it seems things might actually be all good for these two.
