It’s a liminal season for all, but especially for Jennifer Lawrence. Not only is the actor experiencing New York’s utterly graceless winter-to-spring transition—and all of the rain, wind, and random heatwaves that come with it—but she is also readjusting her wardrobe after giving birth to her second child.
So far, the actor has managed both sets of changes with aplomb. Lawrence proved that her maternity staples (like her beloved cobalt blue sweater) are just as welcome in her postpartum wardrobe; She’s also remained something of a sneaker savant, practically daring us to buy a pair of Adidas Tokyos.
But one area where Lawrence has truly excelled lately is with her statement bag repertoire. She’s been especially keen on animal print, from her leopard tote bag to her zebra Fendi backpack. She kept her hot streak going for dinner with husband Cooke Maroney last night, carrying a burgundy alligator Hermès Bolide bag: a ladylike top-handle purse first introduced by the house in 1923, and a far cry from the boxier Birkins and Kellys that rule the It-Bag roost.
The actor used her Bolide to inject a bit of color into her outfit. She wore a long oatmeal sweater over a mid-length beige skirt and added a pair of pointy-toe T-strap flats. Even with a bold alligator bag on her arm, Jennifer Lawrence managed to make her parents’ night out ’fit look understated.
