Lizzo Searches for Backup Dancers in Her Show ‘Watch Out For The Big Grrrls’

Lizzo’s bringing her search for plus-size dancers to the small screen.

Amazon Studios announced that the superstar’s reality competition show Watch Out For The Big Grrrls will premiere on March 25 on Prime Video. The streamer also released the trailer for the series (seen below), which will follow the pop star on her talent search for “confident, bad-ass women” to join the ranks of her backup dancer team, Big Grrrls, for an upcoming world tour.

“With 10 hopeful women moving into the Big Grrrls House, they must prove they have what it takes to make it to the end and join Lizzo in front of a global audience on the center stage,” reads the show announcement.

The “Juice” singer has been a champion for body acceptance throughout her career, with and has regularly showcased plus-size dancers in her performances and music videos. “Girls that look like me don’t get representation,” the twerking connoisseur says in the trailer. “Time to pull up my sleeves and find them myself.”

“This is the greatest moment of my career yet,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “Y’all know how hard it’s been finding dancers that look like me. But if I gotta get a TV show to get the world to see the value in us big grrrls BITCH IMMA DO IT.”

The “Cuz I Love You” singer also serves as an executive producer on the show, which is the first to come out of her first-look deal with Amazon. Legendary choreographer Tanisha Scott and original Big Grrrls members Chawnta’ Marie Van, Shirlene Quigley, and Grace Holden will help the star on her search.

Other special guests on the show include “Love Galore” singer SZA, choreographer Charm La’Donna, body movement expert Rashida KhanBey Miller.

All eight episodes of Watch Out For The Big Grrrls hit streaming on March 25.
