Amy Schumer is co-hosting the Oscars with Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall tonight, and she went ahead and roasted Leonardo DiCaprio during her monologue. Direct quote: “Leonardo DiCaprio, what can I even say about him? He’s done so much to fight climate change and leave behind a cleaner, greener planet for his girlfriends.”
I mean, LOL, but the best part of this whole thing is definitely Jessica Chastain’s reaction because she pretty much lost her shit, causing Twitter to in turn lose its shit (the circle of life, etc):
Amy previously joked that she sought legal council before co-hosting the Oscars, telling The View, “Coming out of this pandemic, I really feel like performing. I’m really excited to do this, and I’m also like, you know, a mean-spirited comedian. I consulted my lawyer, and he said, ‘You can’t say half of those things,’ so the ones that I can say, I’m going to!”
She also told The Ellen Show that she expects to be “freshly canceled” after the show, saying, “It’s not that I make a plan, I just have poor impulse control. I think it and then it’s too late and I’m over.” But she added that she wasn’t that nervous, saying “I think that’s what stand-up does to you. It goes so bad that you lose that fear. But I do have trouble sleeping.”
Guess we’ll see what happens!
